Vår dirigent tilldelas 2025 Ann Gooch Award
Congratulations to Viveka Boettge, recipient of the 2025 Ann Gooch Award! The annual award is presented to Sweet Adelines from outside North America who have contributed significantly to the furtherance of barbershop in the worldwide area. Viveka joined Sweet Adelines in 1998 as a bass in Stockholm City Voices (then called Stockholm City Chorus). She joined her first quartet, Swedish Razzmatazz, in 2001 and later competed on the international quartet stage with Twist! (2015). In September 2016, Viveka became director of Stockholm City Voices. The following year, they made the top ten at international competition and received the Harmony Achievement Award, earning her the title of Master Director. While serving as Region 32 membership coordinator, Viveka began nurturing barbershop music in Åland, which ultimately resulted in the formation of their first barbershop chorus, Seaside Singers. Today, Viveka is Master Director of Harmony Bells Stockholm and a popular coach for choruses in several barbershop organizations. Viveka is known for saying, “It’s more amusing to have fun.” We honor her for the fun she brings as a dedicated coach, enthusiastic tag singer, and unofficial barbershop amBASSador.
